Problem with @ChMadar piece is it assumes - despite saying otherwise - we have to choose between safety systems and criminal prosecution.

Hard to prove deterrent effect or lack of it but I suspect not. Empirical research in criminology shows deterrence comes from

...punishment being swift and certain and these CEO prosecutions are neither. An adequate regulatory state would be much better.
