In accounts of 65-66 Indonesia genocide, "communists" often in quotes–implying if victims had been real reds, slaughter would've been legit?

Aside from ethnic Chinese, most victims of '65-66 Indonesian mass slaughter do not fall under U.N.'s quirky, narrow definition of genocide.
-
Mass killing of a "national, ethnical, racial or religious group" is genocide under U.N. definition, but not a political or class group.
-
Legal definitions should not always have the last word over everyday usage definitions, whether with genocide or other matters.
-
It's significant that
@AmbassadorPower does not even mention the '65-66 Indonesian genocide in her overpraised genocide book. -
Why not? Most likely because Washington was an abettor in this genocide. And "dwelling" on such is no way to get ahead in Washington, natch.

@ChMadar (made that joke before, but @'tting it this time lol)
