Jaurès assassinated 101 years ago for trying to avert what we now call First World War. Murderer got off scot-free; widow had to pay costs.

Jaurès' murderer was himself killed by Spanish Republicans in the Spanish Civil War. Jaurès was interred in the Pantheon in 1924.
