I call bull—t. You aren’t astonished at all, because you know full well @SamanthaJPower only concerned herself with #genocides in which the US was not complicit. Montt was supported by the US for years, including during the bloodiest ones of his reign.
I recall her talking about our role in creating the conditions for the rise of the Khmer Rouge and our support for Saddam. She goes on to paint building pressure for sanctions on Iraq as redemptive though...
Also I she abstains from using the g-word in a passing reference to Americans' depredations against Native people
