I call bull—t. You aren’t astonished at all, because you know full well
@SamanthaJPower only concerned herself with#genocides in which the US was not complicit. Montt was supported by the US for years, including during the bloodiest ones of his reign. -
We would make a good beach volleyball team, you and I, Kevin Jon Heller.

You can spend 30 seconds flipping through the index of that book and safely conclude she's not engaging in good faith

How’s about Indonesia then

No mention at all. 1 sentence for East Timor, mischaracterizing the US role in it.
-
JFC. Have you seen that Obama doc The Final Year? Really funny bit where she tries to get the Saudi foreign minister to put on VR goggles to simulate a Yemeni refugee camp and he pretty much tells her to fuck off

I'm not going to read it but did she mention East Timor?

Well, there just wasn't room with all the endless passages of which 90s senator said what to which other 90s senator about whether we should sanction this place or another one. They walk down halls a lot, that takes time to explain. Yes I listened to the whole fucking audiobook.

Anyway she voted for the genocidal blockade in Yemen as UN Ambassador so it shouldn't be too hard to guess how she really feels about human rights.

A very long time ago, I wrote about that for an essay nobody read in the LARR. It’s called, “The experience and meaning of violent death in Latin America”....
-
Do you have a direct link to said essay. Wouldn't mind giving it a read.
-
You'd be one of the first to read it! Here you go.... http://lasa-4.univ.pitt.edu/LARR/prot/fulltext/Vol42no1/timmons.pdf …
