Yeah. I get your point. 2 things can be true at once though. In this case its a BOTH are TRUE. The prison system is TOTALLY F&$%€d up, but giving families time to hug and reconnect is a beautiful things as well. (It does NOT negate the reality of the former however)

I think people are objecting to the idea that a few minutes with your loved ones is some kind of huge prize.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess “exemplary good behavior” includes submitting to being used as slave labor, not protesting their horrible treatment, and otherwise making their oppressors lives easier. I wonder if there are bonus points for calling the guards “massah.”
