They should not have to do that but lets remember the reasons why they do. It is the random nature of school shootings combined with the lack of gun restrictions. Schools look to remove liability and they come up with means that would frighten an adult never mind a kid.

the fact that they are random (are they really random though?) doesn't change the fact that they are low-incidence events. This is threat inflation.

I don't see how the shootings can be categorized in any other manner. I'm not arguing they're not low incidence nor do I approve of the scare tactics. I'm giving my opinion as to why the schools do it It's a response to the randomness which often brings numerous deaths.

I want to add, the low incidence Americans want is what we see in other countries. Until we change that, the number we see here will not be seen as low. Although I do understand what you meant by low incident.
