A contract requires consent of both parties involved
Taking money from your paycheck without consent even if there is some arbitrary promise to return it isn't a contract, it is theft.

By contrast, the Libertarian says we should have the choice to opt in or out of the system as we see fit.
If it's a great program, people can choose for themselves.
The average 401k provides many times the retirement security than does a government program.

It's more like an unspoken agreement so that we don't have to take care of our parents financially in their old age. It works for me. It's also nice of my employer to pitch in to save that bit of my sanity.

I think like ballpark 15% of Americans are dependent on Medicare for healthcare.
It goes beyond mere theft into extortion because of the threats and violence for those who refuse to pay.
