The system of billionaires donating billions to protect themselves from taxes they already don’t properly pay is part of system we’re complaining about. Someone donating $20 to a surgery is deeply different from someone shielding billions.

If they’re breaking the law, by all means advocate to hold them accountable. But if they’re not, it’s more productive to try and change the law than to attack donations. That doesn’t change the root problem, all it does is drive donations underground / eliminate them.

If this is about Bezos I would argue some ppl make this kind of money *because* others don't. Everyone should celebrate his pledging $2b to help homeless and in the same breath ask why his employees are.
