re: the "fairness" of bitcoin launch and subsequent distribution You have two options: (1) Continue to complain about it (2) Buy some bitcoin There will never be a 'more fair' launch. Proposing an 'airdrop to the world' w/ private allocations for rich investors is laughable.

There's never been a 'launch' as 'fair' as bitcoin's in the history of money. Bitcoin won't solve existing inequality magically but it gives you the guarantee of a 'fair' money system. One that isn't easily corrupted by those with power. All participants are on equal footing.

Every bitcoin holder has contributed work for the bitcoin they own. They either used their fiat(from work) to buy bitcoin or their compute to mine bitcoin. It's a voluntary & permissionless system, there's nobody to blame except for yourself if you choose not to participate.

Bitcoin is more 'fair' than USD. Bitcoin is more 'fair' than gold. Bitcoin is more 'fair' than ethereum. Bitcoin is more 'fair' than ripple. Bitcoin is more 'fair' than the overwhelming majority of systems we rely on everyday. Bitcoin is 'fair' money.

agree with most these points, but half the world doesn’t have the internet yet, so they couldn’t participate. that said, if ppl are upset, they could donate btc. one q, why is an ‘airdrop for the world’ laughable?

Well for starters, how do you coordinate that? How do you make sure everyone gets their share? How do you make sure nobody gets more than their share? Particularly, how do you do that without a trusted third party? That's one of the main issues that PoW solves.

agree it’d be v hard, but doesn’t seem impossible. one option is a centralized body (eg like aadhaar w/ incentives to set up biometric stations) that ppl can move coins off. idk how to avoid sybil attacks in a fully decentralized way. but if you could, any other risks u see?
