Still a good few Med Gulls about here. At least 10 in this pic (of a total of 15 or so) on Charmouth Beach just now.

These are found every winter at Sewage Treatment Works. This one is across the county border in Devon but all the Dorset STWs are worth checking at this time of year.

Sibe Chiffchaff at Kilmington WTW this morning. Stand out from the crowd “pale and interesting”, and very nice black legs and bill (better than the Chideock bird). Didn’t hear it call

Thank You via One of the Australian chaps I follow on YouTube. Here he walks through the burnt bush & actually speaks, briefly, for a change.

A few Herring Gulls loafing about off Lyme this afternoon. A dozen or so Auk sp way out on a flat calm sea, only 1 near enough to ID - it was a Guillemot. A GCG in the bay. The Male Eider, 6 Oycs, 6 Turnstones over near the Cobb. 2 Stonechats on Church Cliff.

An unexpected power cut in Lyme Regis meant I had time to go for a bird watch instead (😊!) The highlights were two dippers, grey wagtails, a black redstart, an extremely obliging goldcrest and this very handsome eider. Shame I didn’t have a decent camera with me...

Not seen a Hawfinch since “that” winter. Checked out Shute churchyard for old times sake. Nice to go back there but drew a blank of course. 1 Goldcrest in the Yew tree.
