Exclusive: Will MacAskill and other EA leaders had been personally and repeatedly warned about SBF's sketchy business ethics as early as 2018. They apparently dismissed those concerns, and went on to accept tens of millions in donations from FTX.

The rotating list of figures who were "banned" from Fox: Matt Gaetz, MTG, Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, Jenna Ellis, Kari Lake, and Trump. "Only Carlson ... was allowed to violate these bans." 's interview with Abby Grossberg:

“Tucker sent marching orders every morning of what he wanted...And many of them were conspiracy theories. It was always like: Here’s my point of view; this is what I want to say tonight. Find somebody who will say that.” Read

Grossberg says this list was constantly evolving, and people came on and off the banned list (which is why many of these people have in fact appeared on Fox News.) But interesting that they were (temporarily) banned at all

Grossberg says that when she worked at Fox News, there was a constantly-changing list of guests who were "banned" from Fox. The Banned List included, at various points: Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, Jenna Ellis, Kari Lake, and Trump himself

Biden's re-election launch with an emphasis on "freedom" as a Democratic value sounds a whole lot like what Pete Buttigieg was saying all over Iowa in 2019 and 2020

This excellent analysis comes closest to what I saw when I spoke to Tucker extensively for my profile— Tuckerism isn’t an ideology, it’s a posture, It’s not a political identity, it’s a contrarian reflex. And it’s extremely appealing to young conservatives

When I speak about the rise in depression among Gen Z teens and young adults, I'm often asked if the trend extends to Millennials & up. This post, with graphs from *Generations* as well as some new analysis, answers that question. What's not as clear: Why? Your thoughts welcome.

I'm honored to have a guest post from @jean_twenge today on the After Babel Substack. Jean shows how the millennial generation's mental health has declined too, though not as much as for Gen Z: jonathanhaidt.substack.com/p/the-mental-i

Hello! this is the correct take! These are two sudden cable news departures that have almost nothing to do with each other

To be clear: Fox News did not know that CNN was terminating Don Lemon today and CNN did not know that Fox was ousting Tucker Carlson. This was a complete and crazy coincidence.

NEW: Tucker Carlson was informed *on Monday morning* by Fox News that he was gone from the network, per two sources briefed. Not the first time a Fox anchor has abruptly lost their gig, but still notable given Carlson's stature at the network.

New Feinstein wrinkle. Democratic aide says the Judiciary Committee can’t issue a subpoena as part of a Clarence Thomas inquiry; that would require a majority on the panel and Democrats don’t have it without her. “So that option is out of the question.” nbcnews.com/politics/congr

Instead, over the last 5 years young voters seem to have settled into a calculation of "I don't love the D party for XYZ reason, but I absolutely cannot vote for a R." This is hardly great news for the Dems. But it's catastrophic for Republicans.

Young ppl are fleeing partisanship in general. Look at the slow uptick in Independent ID. But even if young voters are less likely to ID as Dems, every election and poll since 2016 has told us they are absolutely not *voting for Republicans.*

Are young people fleeing the Republican party? I just don't see much of that in this data. Instead, I see the opposite. In 2008, 83% of young Black Protestants were Democrats. That's down to 63%. Noticeable drops among non-White Catholics and evangelicals. Muslims, too.
