I love the defence from the that it’s ok since the did it before them. Congratulations on once again lowering the ethics bar! Good on for calling it for what it is

  4. I always loved the game of hockey but I hate the "sport" that turns tournaments into a chest thumping moment for Canadians to put on our ugly face to the world. The young players of Team Canada did great. Thanks for stepping up and playing.

  6. On no, it's going to be one of those: grr, grr, snort, snort nights on twitter. Well, at the risk of poking a very insecure and angry white man let me simply quote the great American philosopher Bugs Bunny... what a maroon.

The 40-hour week didn't just happen. It wasn't handed down on stone tablets. It was a goal that was fought for and achieved when 60 hrs was standard and 40 hrs was considered lazy. Further reducing to 30 or 20 or 15 will require the same fight. We have to want it and demand it.

Yes, the Cdn. gov gives billions to provinces and territories. This is what govs do with tax $. The 'fact' at issue here is that governments shouldn't write-off billions owed to Cdn. taxpayers by private companies, then cut social & public services.

Absolutely. The Liberal and Conservative governments wrote off billions in debt owed to Canadian taxpayers. Where's the bailout for our hospitals? Schools? Working poor and middle classes? Fairness, equality, and respect need to steer our politics again. People before $.

  18. We paid GM billions and wrote off parts of the debt. Throughout they threatened to move jobs to Mexico. Then they abandoned Oshawa. The left in Canada needs to challenge the cozy relationship between capital and government and insist on jobs and an end to precarity.
