Rappaport works for the league, which effectively classifies him as a spin doctor, imo.

Of course it was over kneeling. If a key point was having a plan then you MEET AND HASH OUT A PLAN. SEA: We can't meet with you without a plan. Colin: We could meet and discuss so that ownership, personnel and coaches are on the same page. SEA: [Out of office auto-reply msg]

It should be because he sucks he was a bad quarterback last time he played and coming back three years later I doubt will be improved specially for a quarterback will never see the field anyway

I mean, is there really that much nuance possible between them being upset that he refuses to commit to never kneeling and him "not having a comprehensive plan of all activism actions he might partake in going forward"?

At that point it is important to know who you are hearing from. Those close to Kaep, or those close to the image that they've crafted in Kaep?

And you are hearing that from the Kaepernick camp... Their goal is not to get Colin in the NFL. Their goal is to get his name in the news and make the NFL look bad. Pretty obvious what is going on.

Do you guys ever privately discuss who your sources are to figure out which story is most likely correct?

Convictions come at a cost. Good for Colin for sticking to his convictions, but that doesn't mean teams are going to change their mind about him being a distraction for their team, especially now that's he'd be a backup.
-
"Distraction is meaningless coach speak. NFL players are expected to perform in chaos. Kap isn't distracting anybody.
-
Maybe not internally, but he is an external team/media distraction that coaches don't want to deal with. Pete put up with those distractions from his stars, but now that the Hawks are in a rebuild, he'd rather not have it. Not hard to see that.
-
How does that effect wins and losses? Having a starting class backup could be huge as we see every NFL season.
-
Pete said as much this off season, that he definitely thought the distractions affected the team last year. Why sign a polarizing player that's going to bring a circus with him to hold a clipboard? I admire Colin, but I see it from the team side as well, especially for a backup.
