@CharlesMBlow Or it's the equivalent of JFK's "jawboning" of US Steel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_suasion … -
@theharryshearer@hsmythwithaY@CharlesMBlow I don't see why JFK is relevant. -
@shewz @hsmythwithaY@CharlesMBlow Gee ,i guess b/c he was a USPresident. -
@theharryshearer @hsmythwithaY@CharlesMBlow Over 50 years ago. -
@shewz @hsmythwithaY@CharlesMBlow That's right: we wouldn't want our opinions informed by--ugh--history. -
@theharryshearer @hsmythwithaY@CharlesMBlow by how is it relevant? Is somebody saying we should go back to JKF policies? - 3 more replies

@CharlesMBlow@jpsherman your forgetting the billions in debt the auto bailout required. This wasn't a bailout. -
@DamonGochneaur yup. debt was incurred & we ended up losing ~9B on TARP - but > 1M jobs were saved - not a perfect plan C+/B- -
@jpsherman just doesn't feel apples to apples. I'm all about job retention, but at what cost. Bailouts just delay the inevitable imho. -
@DamonGochneaur@jpsherman They truly just needed a bridge to get through a crisis *they* didn't make. /2x -
@ElisabethCarey@jpsherman by failing to stay relevant & ahead of the marketplace. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, needed no bailouts? 2/2 -
@DamonGochneaur@jpsherman at the idea of letting the US auto industry go under because they couldn't possibly have moved production /2 -
@ElisabethCarey@jpsherman 2/3 isn't an entire industry. -
@DamonGochneaur@jpsherman The Japanese auto makers thought they couldn't survive collapse of GM & Chrysler, but I'm sure you know better. - 1 more reply

@CharlesMBlow@elk_l Bernie Sanders called it corporate welfare and the media agreed...pathetic -
@iloanya1@elk_l@CharlesMBlow He is suppose to be creating jobs for million, not spending billions to save 1000 Indiana folkw/pay for this -
@GeriBAnderson@elk_l@CharlesMBlow it's just propaganda for the media -
@iloanya1@elk_l@CharlesMBlow It will come back to haunt him when evy1 starts pulling out and expects the same sweet deal. What a bus'man -
@GeriBAnderson@elk_l@CharlesMBlow the guy is just a joker..unfortunately running this country isn't a joke -
@iloanya1@GeriBAnderson@elk_l@CharlesMBlow The Joker is leaving office -
@hpchas@iloanya1@elk_l@CharlesMBlow that's backwards. The most favored President in modern times will be leavin + and a joke is coming in
