I made a Steam Curation page! If you want to follow some games I recommend, this is a great place to find them. I'll be focusing on smaller, lesser known games to get the word about about cool stuff I like. Give it a follow!

Here is my progress from today. I've replaced some textures and focused on blocking out more of the space and adding a few paintings. Don't mind the missing skybox texture, that's a byproduct of exporting this as a pk3 file and I'm still troubleshooting that

I blocked out a pretty big new room for the museum. I haven't filled it up with paintings yet, but I have some ambitious ideas. I also snuck in a little art alcove. A lot of work needs to be done with texturing and lighting, but this feels like it's coming together

From this point forward I think I'll just make a thread instead of retweeting the progress. With that being said, the actual museum layout is starting to come together as I put together rooms in the museum

I had an idea for displaying one of the paintings and I gave it a shot, and I think it looks pretty good

I’m getting pretty happy with how my rooms generally look. Obviously there is work to do with regards to lighting, and I’ll probably replace the black bar along the bottom, but I’ll probably start working on the geometry now

I ate at a local Thai restaurant today, and their spiciness chart listed “Iowan Hot” as the most intense option. This might be me, but I’ve never associated Iowa with being a particularly spicy place. Idk just an interesting observation

Of all the research I did, the history of Chinese RPGs is my favorite. It blew my mind how over 200 PC RPGs were created in the 90s and early 2000s, an output rivalled only by Japan and the US! And yet, we never talk about these games... So let me give a very brief overview🧵

This scene is actually more complex than it might initially appear. Vanilla Doom cannot handle protrusions from the wall like the sort found in this painting. Modern tools have been developed that makes stuff like this possible, but it takes a lot more work to set up

It’s interesting that “being a bookworm” means that you are smart, but “having brain worms” means the opposite. I guess the moral here is that you should strive to become a worm instead of being filled with them

The Steam Spring sale is on, so I figured I would take this opportunity to share my Steam Curator where I post short reviews of obscure, weird, or neat games I like. Lots of games on the list are currently on sale

I wrote a piece for this zine. My contribution was about Lovely Planet, a really unique indie shooter, but there are lots of other great contributions. If you like niche games, definitely consider checking this out

By the way, it's itch's Creator Day! Also, the second issue of my collaborative gaming zine, Aporia, is now out!! moonworks.itch.io/aporia-vol-2 Please enjoy! The price is a bit higher because it had to be professionally printed (please mind the description), but it came out well!

🎮🧕⚜️ Why I Boycotted Ubisoft for 10 Years In 2013, Ubisoft received $10M from the Québec government as leader Pauline Marois was bolstering QC’s gaming industry. Games weren’t the only thing on her mind though, as 20 days prior she had revealed “La Charte”. video in thread ⤵️

The heat death of the universe is going to be a real disappointment for all of the Boktai fans. How are they going to play their game without a sun to charge their magical powers?

Riven is a really great game. It's maybe the single most immersive game ever made, which is impressive, given it's 25 years old and is presented in a manner only slightly more interactive than a powerpoint presentation — at a 640x480 resolution to boot. Let me sell you on it.

Noita really is a great game. It embodies everything I love about the roguelike genre, and if you have any interest I highly recommend checking it out

We have roguelikes, but where are all of the fighterlikes, or the bardlikes, or wizardlikes? Perhaps there are also artificerlikes?

I have a massive headache and I'm not even sure why. Maybe its just been a long, stressful week of work and it's finally catching up to me
When I was a kid, I liked Luigi. When I played Mario 3, I would play in the multiplayer mode, which had players alternate levels as Luigi and Mario. I would immediately kill Mario, and then only properly play the levels as Luigi
