It should be easy to know when you’ve found the official YouTube channel of a creator, artist, brand, or public figure. So in late October, we’re updating what it means for channels to be “Verified” w/ new eligibility criteria & a new look. Details → https://yt.be/help/3QfB pic.twitter.com/JXOvMbkbns

If you feel your channel needs clear proof of authenticity/meets the criteria, please appeal -- we’ll review all appeals before the update actually happens! And if your channel is being impersonated, you can report that too: https://www.youtube.com/reportabuse
-
Also! Creators commenting on their own videos will still have their name highlighted (in grey), so you can easily see when it's the official creator – that feature is separate from verification & isn't going away.

That’s a very strange “hobby” I guess you would call it. It’s one thing to troll but thats just odd

I mean there are people who spend their time photoshopping fake nudes of me and trying to distribute them/get as many eyes on them as possible. So, yeah, some weird hobbies out there.

Yeah and I keep entering all these "prize giveaways" you're doing in your comments and the only thing I've won so far is identity fraud!

That's shitty, hope you can get that badge (she says having absolutely no clue how that works). Not having to deal with stuff like this is one benefit of not being very popular.

I think now would be the perfect time for a youtube alternative to snag up all the large but not large enough(now apparently) youtubers and launch a new video share site!
