Strategy and all, Hakuho's slaps Are getting a little hard to watch though. Can't help but feel a little sorry for Shodai 😅 Hope that with another Y now he can retire properly and get some well-deserved rest.

Rip Hibikiryu. Hope the sumo association reviews some of its most dangerous moves and issues e.g. head slams during tachiai and rikishi being overweight.Despite most of it being muscles, doubtful how a rikishi's body and organs can support all that weight

Pity Daieishou's all-win streak was broken, was so satisfying to see him do well. Hope he fights the pressure and hangs in there to win the basho! He has so much potential but is inconsistent... then again, all of them seem to have this problem now 😓

Masayo has the most flexible technique out of the Os, with his recent strong records, he may overtake the other 2 to make Y first. He'll approach Sumo with a spirit(精神seishin) of utmost(至shi) sincerity(誠sei) from start till end(一貫ikkan)

..12-3 is a good start,Kise said he was promoted to O only w 32 wins(10-12-10)and when he had 11 wins as a new O he felt better as he then had 33 wins,the clear criteria.Asanoyama also has 33 wins over 3 basho now, hopefully a sign of greater things to come! 😃

..i'm not sure if he even thought of the possibility that Terutsuyoshi being of smaller size would go directly for his leg, he had no answer or strategy. If he is to become Y one day (which i really hope so) then he needs to up his arsenal of moves really soon

Shodai and Mitakeumi strong and on form! Watching July basho i think Asanoyama lags behind them in terms of the no. of moves and techniques he has, both of them can do yotsu and oshi sumo whereas he always and only goes for the belt-hold instead of observing his opponents first..

Kyujyo due to injury of his right meniscus which requires 2 weeks of treatment. A bit of a letdown at this point, was looking forward to see him against Terunofuji and if Asanoyama can beat him for the first time, but health comes first!

Wahhh some excitement towards the end. Hakuho seems to have hurt his right leg? Mitakeumi is stronggg he strikes me as strong against those who are strong and then gets careless against weaker opponents i think he'll be a really scary opponent esp. from now on!

His inner left ligament/knee wore out,prob the old injury worsening&needs 4 weeks to recover. He's abt Enho's height so having all that bulk on his knees is tough. As much as i like him... maybe he got off a bit easy against Mitakeumi and Enho due to this😅

Yup his legs looked really shaky throughout the whole tournament and in one of the earlier days (day 1? 2?) he nearly fell while squatting to receive the prize money :/ Recover well! (And maybe get rid of some of that weight too)

Wow Daieisho, forcing Hakuho to have such expression, way to go!! I really like how Daieisho fights, he's usually fierce and focused and mostly calm, whomever he may be up against👍

Tokushoryu is really nimble (given his larger than avg size), really enjoyed how he danced along the ringside as he tackled Takarafuji's attacks on Day 9 and the less-seen 'tottari'(arm bar throw) kimarite against Ikioi yest!

😅Can tell at once if he's confident or not b4 the match and clearly he wasn't today resulting in this disappointment. It'll take him a long time to learn how to better control his feelings though- Hakuho really wins 90% of his bouts just by that dominant aura!

Some controversy on the Takakeisho-Enho yest (a day where so many mono-iis were called!) But Enho admitted he was overpowered throughout the match and the referees used this sumo term 死shi(death) にni 体tai(body) 'like a dead body' to describe that Enho had completely..

Terunofuji's really amazing, the only wrestler in history who's climbed back into Makuuchi after falling all that way down and he's grown not only in terms of sumo but as a person as well, thanking all who supported him all this while like his oyakata..

Enho has put a lot of work/thought into his tachiai approach e.g. yest where he avoided a full clash and used his arms and upper body to 'twist' Tamawashi out. Opponents are worried coz they can't guess how he would approach the tachiai now
