HR’s job is sadly only to protect the company — rarely is to help employees.
Its insane to me that an HR team can leave employees out in the cold. Maybe its because they are all 3 women, but my works HR team would take bullets for me and other employees. Its anecdotal, but the one HR person we had that didnt help ANYONE was a straight white male..
Oh, and to add, he was fired after sexually harassing my coworker. No, im not making that up. It took like 3 months from him being hired.
NEVER trust HR. They are NOT on your side. And if you are a nice person, just don't work at HR unless your job is to just help people fill out their insurance forms or something.
I went to HR 4 times at my job I was always gaslit and told "I'm sorry YOU feel that way" nothing was ever done. I made one last effort went to head manager of entire department with examples even broke down. Her solution was to have me talk to my abuser alone. I quit instead....
