I used to get frustrated whenever I saw fellow game industry veterans bashing Crypto or NFTs. Now I just feel sad their closed-mindedness is causing them to pass on life-changing wealth and the opportunity to help create some of the exciting experiences this space really needs.
I have several concerns. The environmental waste of energy, the increase demand for video cards and finally the ability to money launder are all not great things. I don't think profit should drive everything.

The environmental waste is around "Proof of Work mining" (not NFTs) and it's an absolutely valid concern. The good news is that the largest offender of proof of work mining in ways that will be interesting to games is Ethereum and that will not be an issue a year from now.
