Fun parenting day! After cleaning all morning, I found crumbs and sticky mess all over the kitchen. I took a deep breath and called my kid in to talk.

You're thinking of this all wrong. The revenge comes not from the damn kid feeling bad about it one day, but by how severe the cleaning chores will soon become. Short term retribution is always best.
My mom had four kids (WTF was she thinking). She cleaned up after ALL of us and did all our laundry. She made dinner and cleaned up after. My Sarah and I have a rule, who ever cooks does not clean. I don't cook, so I'm always cleaning. Only now, do I realize how good I had it.

It’s honestly so much easier to just clean. Wrangling, scheduling, cajoling, nagging, and then screaming takes so much more effort and I don’t have the energy!
