I leaned over and whispered to my husband at least a dozen variations of possible meet-cutes, and he just kept shaking his head at me in embarrassment.

Ha! I would have gone with the simple, "Hi! Nathan? I'm Julie and I'm a huge fan! I just wanted to say 'hi' real quick. I loved you in Firefly and as Captain Hammer, etc."
