Critical Role doesn't set unrealistic expectations. I was in theater/film since high school. We were all actors that played D&D together into college and long after. I'd say Critical Role is the closest show I've seen in how my friends and I played D&D.
Same! With the right group who are willing to embrace their character even if it is not the popular group choice can lead to some amazing drama (and fun).
