I think Apex's most impressive feat is that it managed to not only make every victory feel earned, but ease the pain of defeat. A loss rarely feels like it was because of RNG or due to information you couldn't possibly know. Those were always the worst parts of BR games.
If you ‘hot drop’ you know it’s going to be a game of roulette, “Will I find a gun before someone else, “ but that’s okay. Where you drop matters and change the play experience. The randomness of ‘Will I find stuff’ (or make best use of what I find) is still enjoyable.

Their mechanics also make hot drops less punishing: - Jumpmaster - You’re more likely to land with your squad nearby - Revive - Your team can fully recover from and early fight - Character abilities - Even with a crappy gun, you’re dangerous and have more outplay options early
