Dem NJ Sen Booker: It takes enormous courage to come forward publicly as Ms. Ford has. The Senate owes it to her and every survivor of sexual trauma to listen to her story and gather all of the facts before moving forward with this nomination.

Dem NJ Sen Booker: At a bare minimum, this week’s scheduled committee vote on Judge Kavanaugh’s lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court must be postponed until this matter is fully and thoroughly investigated.

Blumenthal: Making a mockery of Ms. Ford’s wish for confidentiality or implicating her sobriety in her assault is far worse. These kinds of comments are despicable and deeply harmful – not just to one survivor, Ms. Ford, but to all survivors.

Dem CT Sen Blumenthal: The Senate Judiciary Committee must now give these allegations the serious weight they deserve. They must be fully and fairly investigated. Unquestionably, the Kavanaugh confirmation vote must be delayed.

Dem RI Sen Whitehouse: Kavanaugh’s blanket denial cannot be reconciled with her specific recollections, and the FBI needs time to take proper witness statements. Lying to an FBI agent in a formal interview is a crime, and an impeachable offense.

schuner: Judge Kavanaugh’s credibility has already been seriously questioned because of his answers..and now his credibility is even more suspect. To railroad a vote now would be an insult to the women of America and the integrity of the Supreme Court

Schumer on Kavanaugh: Senator Grassley must postpone the vote until, at a very minimum, these serious and credible allegations are thoroughly investigated. For too long, when woman have made serious allegations of abuse, they have been ignored. That cannot happen in this case.

Schiff on Russia transcripts: The Chairman is again promising to release the transcripts. We hope this time he will follow through on his commitment by scheduling a business meeting immediately and allowing a new vote to release all the transcripts.

Feinstein: I support Mrs. Ford’s decision to share her story, and now that she has, it is in the hands of the FBI to conduct an investigation. This should happen before the Senate moves forward on this nominee.
