Stats matter, but they don’t matter to anyone directly affected by this while thing. So keep them handy but at least present them less cold. It’s presented like “hey here are the stats it’s not as bad as you think.” And to the community affected that’s a big fuck you to them.

I think it's a fair point you bring up, but here's my question. When is it the right time to bring up those stats? A week? A month? Does the stats even matter? Hell, we have cited stats before and some choose not to listen.

and I feel I know his heart over the years I really do but his whole brand has changed due to the era of Trump and it’s concerning how it comes across to my friends who knew his brand online before 2016.

Honestly, I think he just presses the tweet function on articles. Even on the tweet he sent out, those words were from the article. Not that he doesn't agree with the article, but those were from the WSJ.

So to paraphrase “honestly I don’t think he puts an ounce of thought into what he tweets, he just robotically hits retweet because a social media consultant has said tweeting is a good way to interact with active constituents”. That sum it up?
