wtf? 300k people are dead; our hospitals are overwhelmed; our economy is collapsing, and at least one political party is devoted to preventing anyone from getting any government help except hte wealthiest. we aren't lucky and our country is a fascist plague ridden nightmare. https://twitter.com/carlyafisher/status/1339299635513450497 …
I don't think many people could have handled this situation much better to be honest. This pandemic came out of no where. We do live in one of the best countries in the world. We have freedom of speech, and freedom of expression, as well as more. Living here truly is a gift.

how is america one of the best countries in the world when its ratio between its upper class and lower class is among the biggest in the world? your STI and teen pregnancy rates are the highest in colonial countries, your homelessness and imprisonment rates are ludacris

the list goes on...america is one of the worst if not the worst country out of all "developed" colonial nations when it comes to the overall health and happiness of its people. general social ills other countries have a large handle on run rampant in the US

Most of the world *did* handle the pandemic better. USA deaths/100k people: 91. The only major democracies *worse* than us are the UK (96.5), Spain (102), Italy (106), and Belgium (156). Canada (36) and Germany (26.5) are way better, not to mention NZ, AUS, and Japan.

And, just to be clear, the pandemic didn't "come out of nowhere." A major respiratory illness as global pandemic has been discussed in the public health community for three decades, and Bush 43 and Obama both set major policy plans up to address it, which were ignored.

You've got to be shitting me, Chad. I can give you two things that could have mitigated the virus from square go: a national strategy and not undermining public health officials and medical experts.
