    Stuff I picked up from parenting books and works. 1. Let your kids do stuff on their own. This seems basic, but it really does take a LONG TIME and a lot of patience to sit there while they struggle with basic tasks you could do yourself for them. This is how they learn.

    Fact check: no evidence that anybody was "trampled" by police horses. A couple of people were knocked down in the rumpus. One got a sore shoulder, witnesses say. Ottawa police explicitly deny that anyone was killed (hinterwebs freakout rumour) or seriously injured.

    Freedom protest commentary: Several police officers seem to not like what they're doing. I saw some having cordial conversations with protestors right in front of them. Someone else said she caught one crying. Then there are all the reports of officers taking leave. Crazy times.
