The money to pay college athletes has to come from SOMEWHERE. Most likely, it will result in higher tuition for non-athletes.

At minium they should be allowed to do paid autograph events and commercials.

How about a free market in colleges? Eliminate all public colleges.

All worked up over a couple of hundred players whose market value is greater than their scholarships. How about we take away the tax subsidies for D1 sports?

These athletes have been exploited for too long by institutions who are not even educating half of them while profiting from their talents.

College athletes should be allowed to be paid their market value. Period. The "free" education isn't near their value. They should be able to sign contracts for $$. Transfer rules should be abolished. Same for high schools. Athletic Associations get all the $$ and control.

Go professional.

The MAJORITY of those players will not go on to pro meanwhile someone is getting rich off their talents, let them make money off their most prosperous years, who knows how that could elevate their lot after college

As long as colleges don't have to pay them I'm fine with it. Let them be paid by private companies for their name or face for their brand.
