Bad guys don't open carry, @Cernovich Bad guys don't have conceal carry permits, either, but they sure do carry concealed, up to the moment they draw on you!

Open carry, my opinion safer (if not for fear) you know who has a gun, and criminals are less likely to approach, whom has a holstered weapon. Concealed carry was considered the way of the coward in the 1800's. It was also often illegal to conceal a weapon in the old west.

Disagree. You can only react in that situation and advantage goes to attacker. A no hold barred attacker will take out the open carry first, and the rest of the room will shut down after that

Open carry makes you the first target.
-
Which is why MORE open carry is better than less. Two or more open carriers around and perp questions if he can take them all out. And if everybody carries, everyone is safe.

Except that this in turn causes people to REGISTER for a concealed weapons permit. But who cares about that? RIGHT!? Think it THROUGH!

The “creepy” feeling is just an indication of what you’re used to. If you spend time in communities that open carry, it quickly feels normal.

I've seen open carry many times here in Utah. Nobody cares. (To be fair, somebody open carrying a scary black rifle might warrant a raised eyebrow.) I wouldn't budge an inch on the issue myself. As soon as you say, "well..." the left goes for the jugular. To hell with them.

I lived in an open carry state for many years - only occasionally visible, not flagrant.

Having grown up in a open carry state, I find it pretty normal.

I’ll go with stealth. Open carry for law enforcement and military.

I've never seen one person open carry and I've lived in Tx all of my life. It isn't some big problem. The only guns I see in public are sheriff deputies and the po po and that is fine with me.

I've seen it in AZ and KY by both men and women. I saw one person take issue with management because a guy in the McDonald's play area was carrying a revolver in a retention holster while watching over his kids. Do bad guys use open carry holsters?

In the South people open carry because they don’t or do not want to go through the process of carrying concealed.

Open carry is often an unwise choice.

Is there a reply? Says there’s a comment, but I can’t see it.
