Since Confederation Canada has never been invaded by a foreign army. Also - No gulags - No Holocaust - No Mao’s Great Leap Forward - No Armenian genocide - No Cambodia genocide - Virtually no mass shootings - It’s almost as though strict gun control laws work.

And having the 7th highest guns per capita in the world.

Mike, The territory of Alaska, specifically Attu Island, was invaded and occupied by the Japanese during WW2. “The 1000 Mile War” is a good book that talks about it.
-
Not trying to sharpshoot, it’s just not many people know it happpend. I studied WW2 at USMA and didn’t know it until I moved up here to Alaska.
-
I learned about Attu and Kiska in the 80’s in 7th grade World Civ class, this explains why students don’t know crap about US or World History If West Point doesn’t even teach it. bTW Wake Island, and Guam and the Philippines qualify as US assets too at the time.

Also, a lot of Americans seem to have no understanding how important the Electoral College is to maintaining the republic. Get rid of it, and the nation will break apart eventually.
-
Yes. This is important.

I mean, except for: Native American extermination and removal; Slavery (a primary reason for guns for much of our history); Japanese American Incarceration; exponentially increased rates of homocide, suicide, and mass shootings. But yeah, other than that you totally nailed it.

. . . Civil War, decades of lynching, massive pogroms (New York Draft Riots; Tulsa, 1921; East St. Louis, 1917; Red Summer, 1919), etc. etc. Heck, 2nd Amendment didn't even keep the US Army from defeating Southern slaveholding states.

Guessing you just forgot about everything we did to the Native Americans and the Japanese Internment Campsband a whole host of other things. Oh wait. These didn't affect white people, so of course they didn't happen to you.
