My buddy has a Rolex. I tried it on and it was very nice. Comfortable

The $10 quartz watch keeps better time.
-
Which is exactly the point. It’s not made for keeping time.

General statement and I respectfully disagree. It represents a time stamp to a series of achievements and failures that are personal to me. Minimizing all that to social signaling is a cop out and lacks perspective.

yep, you've seen his tweets about fashion, right? He obviously doesn't understand what a rolex can represent, let alone the history of the brand.....and the quality behind it.

does my collection of casio and timex watches count as a socio-sexual status to women?
-
I’ve got nine watches. I like wearing watches. They look sharp. I’m a farmer. I live three miles from the next house. I don’t go out and if it weren’t for my wife I’d be celibate. Blanket statements are so boring. On par with the barber

in some circles, watches mean exactly shit. I wear a Rolex because it was a gift and it reminds me of the person who gave it to me. I also still wear the Swiss army watch my parents have me for high school grad, because I’m a sentimental SOB.

Name a better long term watch than a Rolex?
-
Patek Philippe, Cartier, Hublot, Omega, Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Richard Mille, etc. There are a lot of good watches that hold their value. My biggest problem with Rolex is they are so ugly.
-
You are kidding? No-one of those keep in value let alone gain like Rolex's

What about an Ulysse Nardin skeleton?

There ya go! 99% of people have no idea what you’re talking about, sadly..... but watch fans know...

Most People probably think it’s a Swatch. But Hey, Swatches are cool. They are a celebration of design at a slightly lower price point.
-
Swatch saved the Swiss watch industry back in the 80’s by buying up all the failing horological houses, so I’ll definitely never say anything negative about them. Fascinating story there!

I’m getting my swatch Hamilton on Tuesday
-
Long live the wristwatch!
