Tbh I fell for it at first.
Each yr more of the Amazon forest is deforested. 70s were bad. 80s were less bad. 90s less. 2000s got worse. 2010s less bad. Net net.. each decade added to the losses. About ~20% gone since 1970. The normal pattern is LOSS & that should be the issue.
Real ongoing event (over decades) - deforestation of Amazon. Politicized event; fires. Reactions, some founded, others not. Ongoing event still ongoing. (deforestation) Dismissed by one side for the other's inaccurate portrayal/politicizing. Typical pattern w/ these things.
If we could get real we could break out of that pattern.... Should the Amazon not be used as a resource by its owners like other forests? Why? Should they be paid NOT to use their national resource? Who will pay them? Answer that & we get REAL about the Amazon.
