Good advice. I've taught college for 30 years. You know who does especially well in college? Students who take a gap year, or two, or ten, so they're cognitively & socially mature enough to reap its full benefits. No need to go straight out of high school.
If you’re about to start college, remember this: - College will be there waiting for you in a year. Or two. The economy is booming. Make that cash. Stash the cash. When market tanks, then go to college “rich,” and old enough to buy liquor.

Go to local colleges - not expensive universities!

Go to a trade school instead of college or university unless you want to be a doctor or lawyer. Electricians, surveyors, plumbers, hvac make great money and you don't have to go into decades of student debt.

Find a job that also offers tuition assistance. There are many that do. Take classes on your employers dime.

Wise words. Just told my daughter if she doesn’t know what she wants to be, then get a job and figure it out. Once you know, then go to college if needed, but don’t waste hard earned money.
