The way black WWII veterans were treated when they returned home is an issue people should think about more, especially those who claim to support the troops.

Black veterans returned from WWII , were denied GI Bill and other benefits that they earned and were owned. Good point. For many of our wars black veterans were treated very poorly and they were fighting for a country that, in many places and the fed government, treated them as 2nd class. Glad we don’t do that anymore. That said, “1619” is mainly revisionist history propaganda

Not to be a jerk (but I am sorry), I'm assuming Democrat controlled Congress, Senate, Truman ofc, dept. appointees, majority Governors (especially the South) ...

Not only the black veterans, bit their families while they were serving. It's really hard to imagine (for me), how messed up things were.
Still see it today. I see many black men approached two ways: Looked at with fear, as if they're ready to attack (right wing) Looked at patronizingly, like when a mentally deficient child tries to do math (left wing) It would suck to have to live with this. I get the anger.

We dont have to think about ANYTHING that people did 80 years ago. We need to think about what people are trying to do to us NOW. Snap out of it and stop falling for this crap

If 1619 marked America's true beginnings then the NYT has to explain that the whites were EUROPEANS as were their descendants and then explain their current Euro-worship.
