Both my kids graduated from college debt free because they worked their tails off to pay for it and commuted. Not many people believe you when you say it can be done. No government help here. Also they got degrees that made them employable.

Probably a high percent. My parents co-signed since I had no credit...worked for 2 years out of college and have close to 800 credit score. Re-financed without any co-signer and cut my interest rate in half and also getting their name off the loan.

I bet a lot. I’ve got 5 years to go. My overall burden was light however. We had the discussion on debt/degree vs projected income.

Many schools will need a Parent-Plus loan if they don’t qualify for PELL Grant. Then they need to pay cash for the remainder or get a Parent Plus.

Only if you go public IN-STATE. Plenty of kids go out of state.

I am not sure if anyone who can afford New Jersey public colleges, Rutgers tuition is insane. We have made it work and will make it work with help and my 3 daughters will have no debt. Blessed.

A lot...but to be fair, I have paid them back myself. Still some left, but it is 1/3 of what it was.
