And they have been receiving more in SS than they ever put in, a lot of them, I know for fact my Mom receives waaaaay more than she put it, but talk about raising the age they get outraged, even though everyone's life expectancy is higher now than when the program began

I'm a boomer who is all for reducing SS benefits (reduce $ or raise age). We were told 40 yrs ago that it wasn't sustainable. Some of us prepared for it not being around when we retired. Others kept voting to "borrow" from the next generation.
-
I wish we could opt out
-
What will probably happen is that those of us who prepared will bail out those who didn't.

I'm not happy with what the boomers did with what they inherited, but the biological fact is that each generation has only two essential tasks, survive and reproduce. Anything more is a bonus. If you're alive thank a boomer.

Boomers sold America to third world migrants rather than passing it down to their children and grandchildren.

Yes! Now to adjust that boomer bracket up to let's say... 68 and over to recognize a lost generation that did nothing but wait hand and foot on their "boomer" parents 20 years their elders with nothing to show for it but the theft of their SS, physical and mental health. Ciao.

Making broad generalizations about large groups of people is pretty much the definition of lazy and uncritical thinking. Judge people as individuals, not as their generation, race, political affiliation, or any other demographic. To do otherwise says more about you than them.

As boomer I will admit that some of my generation were/are parasites, but the rest of us have worked our butts off our entire lives and not taken one red cent from society. So spare us the generalizations. Guilt of the same crap as the Left there, Mike

I’m a boomer, my parents had nothing to leave me after working hard all of their lives, I worked hard too all of mine, I have an inheritance to leave them, nothing that will make them filthy rich, it’s to help them SOME if they are smart and frugal. Quit labeling all Boomers!

Thank you!

The 1960's were the last organic "peak" for the US which also created the seeds for the current unraveling
@realDonaldTrump has been able to create a "peak" through sheer force of will/personality/virtually super-natural skills Without TRUMP it all goes away fairly quicklyThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
