Because we aren’t Boomers and we aren’t Millennials. Period.

Yup. Our parents and grandparents survived the Great Depression. We had freedom, John Hughes Movies, Grateful Dead, Michael Jordan. Arnold, Suoer Bowl Shuffle, relative peace, cola wars, and we escaped the US Dept of Education. Plus no school shootings. People went postal instead

Was allowed to grow up without social media intruding on every aspect of life...but as adults, get to appreciate how amazing it all is, and how far technology has come.

The luckiest are rich kid millennials. They live in an alternate dimension. Gen X is lucky because we saw peak pop culture(TV, Music, Movies, WWF, Games), had a chance to get going before the dot com crash and 9/11.

The last gen to grow up keeping score in youth sports, played outside until after the sun went down. I had a four wheeler & was able to drive it to all my friends houses within a 20 square mile area, at age 12. Was driving a car at 14, cruising town at 15. Tough but fair parents.

If you mean they had a lower percentage of insufferable liberals when compared to The Boomers and The Millennials,I agree.

Gen X grew up under a cold war, then a few real wars... dealt with 9/11, a boom/bust tech stock market... and later a full recession with a record number of foreclosures. It wasn't all roses. But I sure wouldn't trade it for any other generation.

A colleague told me most college grads got $50K/year jobs starting out, didn't matter what their degree was. My first Corporate America gig paid HALF that.

As a Gen X, I agree we got lucky: -No dopamine addiction in childhood (smartphone) -College was more reasonably priced and more relevant -Internet expansion created lucrative jobs -Obesity wasn't normal -No participation trophies Gen Y+Z got screwed.
