'Twilight Zone' episode idea: Some nut kills an abortion doctor, goes to prison for 30 years. 30 years later, on the day he's released, he's hit by a car & dies. The driver of the car was the person who would have been aborted if the abortion doctor hadn't been killed.

This is indeed a very tough question. The law should be the standard. The scenario (edge case) probably should be judged on a case by case basis. Something should also be included is the offender (rapist). Should the offender also forfeit his life as well?

The thought of having a rapist's DNA in a child being delivered by the female raped is inconceivable in my opinion. I don't think a woman should be forced to keep that baby. Having said that, I think a woman should terminate the pregnancy w/in 8-12 weeks if she chooses to do so

I'll bite. The problem we are fighting over is whether I as a woman have agency enough to make decisions even in the face of a traumatic situation. Emergency contraceptive is widely available. I disagree with the premise that i cannot control my actions after said rape.

IMHO, You really have to be all in either way. What if it has spina bifida or downs? Any difference? The line "they should be rare and justified in the case of rape, incest, or life if the mother" gives moderates wiggle room.

More data. Any research on of how the baby is impacted by a mother that literally wants the baby dead, even if she is forced to deliver?
-
What science should focus on is making it possible for a baby to develop outside mother's organism.

The only argument I can think of that would justify abortion in the case of rape is that the mother did not willingly accept the risk of pregnancy. Because she is in no way liable for the baby's existence, she can't be forced to carry it to term. Note: playing Devil's Advocate
