Make sure you start light and have someone check your technique. My opinion is your cardio should be at a good level before you start the lifting.

I'd suggest a Starting Stregnth affiliate trainer. Dunno AJs background in personal training, so nothing against him. He is pretty damn great in general on advice for life. But Starting Strength and Mark Rippetoe have specific programs designed for seniors
