I don’t believe that nonsense about not listening to our microphones all the time. At the store my daughter asked what activia was when she saw it on the shelf. I said that’s activia yogurt. Next day FB asks me whether I’ve seen an ad for it. I didn’t search for it in google.

Ironically, those that care about this story don't use FB and those that do use it don't care if they're surveilled, data harvested, and psychologically exploited, or they'd dump the platform.

Where do the voice recordings come from??There’s no assistant app like Siri. Have any deep throats confirmed the apps themselves listen, clandestinely, like bloggers and YTers posited before? Plus, IIRC, Zuk said *under oath* to Congress that they don’t listen.

Unless there's a listening device embedded in the FB app (which wouldn't surprise me in the least) I assume they are transcribing all uploaded user voice and video recordings plus every word uttered on FB Messenger.
