My dad is a boomer, he was not given this economic opportunity at all. He worked 2 jobs in high school and was forced to drop out of school to help his family pay the bills. Even into adulthood he was laid off 3 times as a tool and die maker. Meanwhile myself as a millennial has

Peoples' parents saved up for them too. Notice you never hear the words "college fund" anymore? Also, everything wasn't bought on credit then. People then usually understood that if they didn't have the money it meant THEY CAN'T AFFORD IT.

My parents had a mortgage and nothing else. My mum had a 150 a week budget for food that she NEVER went over. Family of 5 in the 70s and 80s. I remember getting my first pay check at 15 of 50 bucks working at Kmart and mum took 30 of it for savings. Lol

Okay, so we're going to take the generation of failed artists and feminist dance theory majors and turn them into nurses and welders?
-
Well, yeah.
you gotta make money. Reverse course. Also, having a double major used to be a thing, a back up plan. In case the dream failed. - 2 more replies
