        It really depends.. did they speed? Jaywalk? Intentionally put their own or other children in harm? Murder? Rape? Tax evasion? Put their trash can out too early? Water their lawn on the wrong day? It really depends. This is too blanket a question.

        Not for inherently non-violent crimes. But even if you don't have children you shouldn't be locked away for those
