Why would anyone do this?!? Because you want to "experience child birth in all its glory?" Same logic: "Would you get a root canal without a shot so you can experience a root canal in all its glory?"

My wife had the works with our 1st. Spinal tap epidural and all. Our 2nd came so quick and late at night, the anesthesiologist couldn't make it in time, so she was only on over the counter pills. She preferred the first but wasn't as affected by the second as she expected.

No thankyou! My first weighed 8lb 14oz, I ripped , and was sewn up with again, no pain killers ,,, NOT MY CHOICE, I'm not a drama queen, and I do lots of things natural, but childbirth is not one I would have chosen without pain meds, I didn't have the option!

My last child was born natural and it was a way better experience compared to my first 2 children’s births. I felt in control and amazing after.

The best money I’ve ever spent was for my wife’s doula.

Our first two were with mid-wives but in a hospital and my wife experienced a lot of pain. For the 3rd, she did hypnobirthing, which worked a little too well and the baby came quickly and painlessly at home.

Guys: place a bag of ice on your groin for 30 minutes then get your girl kick you as hard as she can in the crotch. Have a cup of tea followed by the best sex in the world. What part do you remember? Endorphins mask some of the pain and the memory fades. that's childbirth.

My wife went through natural child birth with no pain killers. It was brutal.

Your wife's determination is very admirable! Like myself, not all mom's have the option of natural childbirth so I definitely envy this most precious experience and applaud it!
