If someone involved in boxing or MMA has consistently awful fight pics it, everyone calls them out. Memes get made. But cable news pundits can be miles off, with bizarre subplots, and they stay respected at the desk for years. No mentions ever made of it

People are easily influenced. If they keep getting told the same thing over and over they will believe it to be true. If enough people believe something the outcome can be questioned.

Tldr Judge the tree by it's fruit
