This, “The Rape of Nanjing”, “A Problem From Hell”, and “The Aquariums of Pyongyang” should be required reading in high schools. Everyone should understand what humans, across cultures, are capable of.

Belgians benefited a lot from his exploitation of the Congo and even today refuse to condemn him, from what I see online. You know the saying about karma, right. I, for one, won't feel sorry for the Belgians at all when their karma hits.

I want to know who inherited these ill gotten riches and what they've done with it. Seems to me Belgium (EU hq) loves dominating Europe unelected, &preaching to others. So very moral!

Some of the slavers in Leopold’s regime did actually object to chaining slaves together by the neck... Because if one fell in the river they dragged the others in and all drowned. Then the poor slavers had the hassle of rounding up a fresh lot of slaves. Hard work in that heat.

The second Congolese war was even more horrific. The Scramble for Africa and colonialism did terrible things, but it's been far worse since decolonization, except in a few places, and not until recently So what I'm I suppose to really think about this??
