Just took my first unassisted bath since the accident 6 weeks ago today. Gratitude for small things these days. My children aren’t orphans. Only my leg was broken; I’m not permanently injured. I can bathe myself again. It’s hard to focus on these things now. Grief dominates.

35 years ago I was 24. My wife died due to diabetic complications, our son was 3 months old. I’m with you all the way. Back then there wasn’t anything like this to talk with anybody. Your more than welcome to ask me anything. I’d be glad to help.

Please consider gettimg some treatment for the non-physical wounds as well. As a child of a widower, we have all rebound by the grace of God...but my dad does suffer from PTSD. Prayers for your whole family.
