tbh, i tend to think we'd just have lower debt. You could argue less GDP (possibly), but then that leads to the whole rabbit hole of the military-industrial complex actually being a shadow govt jobs program (which it most certainly is)

That is an extremely difficult counter factual to truly work out. One would have to calculate what would we be faced with in the absence of intervention/projection. In addition, the difference in this country would expose other challenges, as well as whatever benefits.
