I’m a married male trial lawyer, and father of 3. Would never miss a family event or family vacation if I could help it, and certainly not for a perceived advantage in a single trial. Family comes first.

If the job takes priority over the kids, it's time to sign over full custody of the kids to the other parent. That she doesn't have the decency to do that...

The problem isn't the choice she's made, it's that she's stringing her kids along pretending that she hasn't. It's the constant disappointments and heartbreak that will scar them for life. They'd be better off with their grandparents.

Regardless if it's Mom's or Dads, this shouldn't be celebrated.

I build my business for my wife and son. Work is there for the kids. Means to the end. The job is not the end.

This is sad. Kids desperately need time with both Mom and Dad. There really is no substitute.

Not sure what to think, I can’t imagine what a single parent goes through cause I’m not one. However not every single parent “prioritizes” work over their kids. She said it herself, there’s always another client to defend, and there always will be. Her kid only turns 7 once.

She is just not very intelligent with her time. Extra hours does not equal results. Most effective lawyers I know (one myself) know how to delegate and focus their energy on what is important. Obviously this lady is perpetually in the abyss. I would not want her as my lawyer

My dad was like this. Very dedicated to a job that helped people. I'm worried about giving his eulogy because all the good stuff I have to say is about his career and people are going to wonder why I'm not talking about him as a father.

I wonder why she had kids at all, if her career is so important that it takes priority over them. Also it didn't seem to occur to her that there is a different, deeper meaning to what her son said about her at the event at the school.

I Love them beyond all reason ... but, me me me my my my career first. Yeah, that's not how it works, but since when has that mattered to postmodernists.

One more piece of evidence that 2 parent homes are in the best interest of everyone in the family. There are times when it's necessary for one parent to give their attention to work. Having the second parent available takes the pressure off and stabilizes the home for the kids.

Your job that I think should be given a salary like a contemporary job should be raising those kids to the best of your ability...we place our priorities like a chess piece...in the wrong place and needed to focus on the real priority. When I have kids...I’m going to say climate
