The border stations are handling far more people than they were designed for, as well as being understaffed. We had showers like this at Fort Jackson, South carolina, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Fort Gordon, Georgia. The facilities in Europe were even worse.

Exactly. 1,000 per day is their capacity limit. We've greatly exceeded that for a long time now.

They brought in some portable showers to the field before our deployment. It was January, there was no warm water several times.

I grew up with an outhouse. I don't remember anyone being concerned about my well being. Thankfully that was only until I was about 12.

Shoot, when I was a little girl in the sixties, we had outdoor plumbing, and had to carry a flashlight at night. When you immigrate without advance notice--especially if you are claiming asylum--should a cramped shower offend you? If so, then conditions at home weren't that bad.

Private showers? Wow. I was use to a medium sized room with 6 hoses at chest level showering 6 dudes at a time... In cold water. It did teach me to shower fast though.... So not a total failure.
